Maudie is confused, which is all part of Obama's ESC scam. Either this is 'the first-ever human trial of an embryonic stem cell-based treatment' or Geron Corp. has already been 'using ESC lines that predated the Aug. 2001 restrictions', so actually this is simply government funded embryonic abortion on a massive scale. Is Senator Frist on the Geron board?
Why doesn't anyone ask Geron what 'discoveries' they've made using those pre-2001 ESC's (aside from tumors and lesions)? Were the Japanese, the French, the English, or the Chinese constrained by the Bush restriction on government funding of ESC's? Not hardly. The world has sat around and waited for Geron to reap billions by using embryonic cells? Do you think North Korea had any moral restriction on their research?
Can you say Fanny Mae, Mr. Madoff? Can you say rat hole, Dr. Frankenstein?
