Finally!, no equivocation from a top official in the Vatican on abortion and gay marriage, no less. No throwing a bone to the poverty/healthcare/global warming Obama voting Catholics. No cover for Catholic politicians. Life trumps your feeling on redistributing wealth.

But just when you thought the Catholic message clear, the Pope meets pro-abortion Governor Richardson of NM. The problem is not the Pope shaking hands and speaking to him for a few minutes, it is why Archbishop Michael J. Sheehan of
Santa Fe is palling around with pro-abortion Richardson in the first place and forcing him on His Holiness.
While it was an
event to support repeal of the death penalty, which Richardson and the Vatican agree, it once again points to the problem Archbishop Burke addressed, "Any hope which is incoherent with the great hope is truly illusory and can never bring forth justice and its fruit, peace, for our nation and world." So the question arises, is the death of a murderer or a child rapist on a par with abortion? It would seem Burke doesn't put it that high. “These are only some examples of a consistent pattern of decisions by the leadership of our nation which is taking our nation down a path which denies the fundamental right to life
to the innocent and the defenseless unborn...,” Burke said.
According to Catholic News Service, Richardson asked Benedict to bless a silver olive branch. The Pope looked down at the branch Richardson was holding, thought for a moment, then said "Lord and Giver of Life, Bless this olive branch as a symbol of ending the assault on Your innocent and defenseless unborn children. May it inspire Catholic politicians to end their support of their death culture. In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen.
Well, one can 'hope' this was the Pope's blessing.
God's Law: Case closed.
"Whoever strikes a man a mortal blow must be put to death. He, however, who did not hunt a man down, but caused his death by an act of God, may flee to a place which I will set apart for this purpose. But when a man kills another after maliciously scheming to do so, you must take him even from my altar and put him to death. [Exodus 21:12-14]
