Obama snubs Jenkins for fundraisers

"Sorry, Father John.  No time to 'dialogue'.  Maybe next time."

These "crucial differences" in positions on the protection of life are not being ignored in extending the invitation to the president, but rather can be used as a catalyst for dialogue." - Father John Jenkins

Before returning to Washington, the president stopped in Indianapolis for two fundraisers. About 40 people attended a $15,000 per couple Democratic National Committee event, which raised between $300,000 and $400,000.

About 650 people attended a second fundraiser for four Indiana Democratic congressmen. Tickets ranged between $250 and $5,000 per person.

Perez Hilton, Notre Dame 2010 Commencement speaker

‘Vita, Dulcedo, Spes,’ taken from the ancient prayer to the Virgin, the ‘Salve Regina,’ means ‘our life, our sweetness, our hope’.and the combination of these phrases with the symbol for the university indicates the dedication of all Notre Dame’s activities, intellectual, spiritual, athletic, and so on, to Our Lady.

After his collusion with Obama, Pope Jenkins, President of Notre Dame, has asked that the phrase be updated to show how enlightened the University has become.  As The One proclaimed at His Sunday 'What a Nice Guy am I' Commencement address, "Open hearts, Open minds" to abortion, ergo:  'Vita, Dulcedo, Spes, Abortio'.

Also from the Salve Regina:  "To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears."  Abortio, indeed.

Next up:  Same sex marriage.  Look for Perez Hilton to be Notre Dame's 2010 Commencement speaker.  'Matrimonium sexus eadum'.  They may even remove that 'Vita' thingy.  No need to be divisive.

A children's poem to Barack

“Open hearts. Open minds,” He said.
And “Scissors please, to open the base of the babies head.”

'President Barack Obama strode head-on Sunday into the stormy abortion debate and told graduates at America's leading Roman Catholic university that both sides must stop demonizing one another.'
1. Would this include His Dept. Of Homeland Security Chief adding pro-lifers to His Terrorist Watch List?  Or more recently, His Grace Himself ridiculing Tea Party demonstrators?

'But he said those on each side of the debate "can still agree that this is a heart-wrenching decision for any woman to make, with both moral and spiritual dimensions.'
1. Moral and spiritual dimensions?  How about moral and spiritual repurcussions?
2. No word on how heart-wrenching (literally) it is for the baby.

Father Jenkins and Obama now the minority

It seems the country is leaving Obama and Father Jenkins in the soiled linen closet.  Maybe it gave people pause to reflect on having the most rabid abortion promoting American president with His "I don't want them punished with a baby" speech.

So too, might there be a slight swing with the pro-abortion Catholic majority who put their liberation theology ahead of 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness' with Notre Dame and Pope Jenkins honoring Obama for all His liberal positions, including abortion.  Oh c'mon.  A majority of  'Catholics' voted for Him, a majority of 'Catholics' are pro-abortion.  Who are we kidding?

It was, after all, the good German people who put aside their moral judgment of murdering 6 million Jews and millions of sundry others in getting their Weimar economy turned around.  What's the diff?

More Americans “Pro-Life” Than “Pro-Choice” for First Time; Also, fewer think abortion should be legal “under any circumstances.
It appears Gallup is scrubbing their website of the graphs.  Maybe too much pressure from pro-abortion 'Catholics'.  This graph was saved before the pc crowd got to Gallup.

Father Jenkins: embarrassingly wrong

"Racial prejudice is a deep wound in America and President Obama has been a healer"

Wrong:  Partisan Gap in Obama Job Approval Widest in Modern Era - Pew Research

"I think if he is going to reconsider his views, Notre Dame is the best possible place.  We are not ignoring the critical issue of the protection of life. On the contrary, we invited him because we care so much about those issues, and we hope for this to be the basis of an engagement with him.

These "crucial differences" in positions on the protection of life are not being ignored in extending the invitation to the president, but rather can be used as a catalyst for dialogue."
- So saith Pope John Jenkins

Wrong:
5/16/09 - "The president intends to go to Notre Dame, speak, accept the degree,
and come back to the White House,"
- So saith (Press Secretary) Robert Gibbs.

Injecting paint and varnish remover into kidneys

Even local media get a good laugh at Pelosi's expense regarding her statement that the CIA discussed waterboarding with her group, but only in regard to what techniques were not being used.  It had to be quite a list, from Japanese injecting paint and varnish remover into POW's kidneys, North Koreans drilling holes into their prisoners, Chinese breaking one bone a week (the better to give their political opponent time to think about the next session), Russian, Cambodian; well you get the picture, a very long list, indeed.
And if Pelosi's next argument is that the CIA told her that waterboarding was "on the table" but hadn't been used yet, why would she just nod acceptance to this 'torture' even being considered?  Would she just nod acceptance to "Injecting paint and varnish remover into their kidneys is on the table but hasn't been used yet"?  She's a liar.

Cockfighting back in the news!!

Allow cockfights in abortion clinics!  Answers never change.  2 plus 2 equals 4 no matter how many times it is asked, no matter how many different ways.  Outlawing cockfights is discriminatory against Hispanics.  It is a civil rights issue.  It is anti-cultural.  As Maudie has written, the same razors used on a roostercock are used to destroy a fetus (50M and counting).  Please read other Maudie posts on the pro-choice benefits of cockfighting.  It's 1973 all over again.  You're either enlightened or you are not.  Which are you?

How stupid was Golda Meir?

Pope under fire for Yad Vashem speech

Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin said during an interview on Israel Radio regarding Pope Benedict's speech, "I came as a Jew, hoping to hear an apology and a request for forgiveness from those who caused our tragedy, and among them, the Germans and the church."  Come again?  "...and the church"?  "...those who caused our tragedy"?  "...caused?"

Catholic apologists have argued that Pope Pius XII saved more than one million Jewish lives during the war, 200,000 in Hungry, 50,000 in Poland, 360,000 in Bulgaria, 250,000 in Rumania, 22,000 in Slovakia and 120,000 in Italy.

At the risk of losing his neutrality and the risk of his own life, he ordered all Catholic convents, seminaries, monasteries, orphanages, and hospitals to be open to hide Jews.

In Rome occupied by Nazi troops, he harbored Jews within the Vatican itself to the extent that the Nazi’s did in fact have a plan to invade and kill the Pope and others.

While secretary to Pope Pius XI, the future Pope Pius XII wrote an encyclical letter warning the German people of the dangers of Hitler and Nazism. This letter written in German was smuggled into Germany by Francis Spellman the future Cardinal of New York.

Between 1936 and 1943 Pope Pius XII protested against Hitler and Nazism over 60 times. After the Dutch hierarchy officially protested the arrest and murder of Jews, Hitler retaliated so forcefully with the deaths of added Catholics and Jews, that along with the Red Cross the Vatican realized that any future protests would bring down fierce measures of Nazi retaliation. From that point on all help for the Jews was carried out by the various underground organizations that were saving the Jews by the tens of thousands.

When the head Rabbi of Rome had arranged significant funds as a ransom of Italian Jews, it was Pope Pius XII who raised most of the ransom. The head Rabbi, in fact, became a Catholic right after the war, taking the Pope’s own name.

Right after the war, the B’nai Brith Society named Pope Pius XII, Man of the Year, and he was praised by every prominent Jewish leader from Golda Meir to the head Rabbi of the United States.

When Adolf Eichmann’s diaries were released by the Israeli government on March 1, 2000. Eichmann, unwittingly, exonerated Pope Pius XII for as Eichmann wrote, Pope Pius XII “vigorously protested the arrest of Jews, calling for the interruption of such action, otherwise the Pope would denounce it publicly.”  Further on he stated in his diary: “At that time, my office received the copy of the letter, that I immediately gave to my direct superiors, sent by the Catholic Church in Rome, in the person of Bishop Hudal, to the commander of the German forces in Rome, General Stahel. The Church was vigorously protesting the arrest of Jews of Italian citizenship, requesting that such actions be interrupted throughout Rome and its surroundings. To the contrary, the Pope would denounce it publicly. The Curia was especially angry because these incidents were taking place practically under Vatican windows. But, precisely at that time, without paying any attention to the Church’s position, the Italian fascist government passed a law ordering the deportation of all Italian Jews to concentration camps.”  “The objective given and the excessive delay in the steps necessary to complete the implementation of the operation, resulted in a great part of Italian Jews being able to hide and escape capture,” Eichmann wrote. A good number of them hid in convents or were helped by men and women of the Church.

Since Pope Pius XII did so much more for his Jewish brothers and sisters than any other person on the face of the earth at that time, the largest monument for non Jews should be erected at Yad Va Shem to Pope Pius XII. It would also be wonderful if the head Rabbi of Jerusalem followed the lead of Pope John Paul II and make a public apology on behalf of the Jewish people for any Jewish negativity toward Pope Pius XII whom history will prove to be their greatest friend.

Evidently, Reuven Rivlin has a problem with B’nai Brith and Golda Meir.  Was she that gullible and stupid?  It would seem elementary, that those Jews present, immediately after the war, having lived through it day by day, would know not from any Church propaganda what was done, but from eye witness accounts.  The Vatican had no army, no planes, no tanks, no rockets.    It's safe to say, it walked a very fine line between helping as many Jews as possible, while preventing millions of Catholics from being gassed.  After all, Dachau was not just for Jews.

More on Archbishop Weakland, Hero of Liberal Catholics

Archbishop Weakland is a co-founder of the AIDS Resource Centre of Wisconsin /Milwaukee AIDS Project (ARCW/NIAP). His name has appeared on official letterhead and he has solicited funds - even donating archdiocesan funds to ARCW/MAP. A recent past-president of this organisation was known to have been a homosexual activist. The organisation distributes AIDS education brochures including instruction on "safe sex" which, apart from advocating condom usage, suggest "Watersports - urinating on each other", mutual masturbation, oral sex and other activities far too distasteful to list here. Additional literature distributed by ARCW/MAP carries advertisements for X-rated gay movies, gay baths and bars, pictures of gay strippers and a Gay Photo Calendar. In 1987, Weakland was asked by a group of lay Catholics to resign his position as co-chairman of the Board of Trustees of ARCW/MAP, but he declined to do so.
Archbishop Weakland has allowed ex-priest and open dissenter Professor Daniel Maguire, to continue to teach moral theology at Milwaukee's Marquette University in clear contravention of Canon Law: Maguire has appeared regularly on the U.S. media justifying abortion and advocating the admission of active homosexuals to the priesthood.

In spring 1989 Weakland called on all archdiocesan schools to teach students how to use condoms as part of an AIDS education program.  He also approved a graphic sex education program "Valuing your Sexuality" which teaches 6th-9th grade students, for example, that "There is no right and no wrong" when it comes to contraception, abortion or sex before marriage.

The Weakland liberal position on 'choice' drew praise from Detroit's auxiliary Bishop Thomas Gumbleton (who is scheduled to visit Australia this month), Catholics for a Free Choice, the pro-choice Sisters of Loretto Women's Network, Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Rights Action League. Bishop Gumbleton called it "a definite step in the right direction".

That Archbishop Weakland has not altered his moral thinking was evident in his critical reaction to a recent Vatican statement on homosexuality directed to the U.S. Bishops (London Tablet, 1 August 1992), issued in the context of 'gay' political pressures to gain full recognition for such things as homosexual 'marriages' and the adoption of children.
How many more of your Catholic diocese are being led by more Weakland's, how many Catholic schoolchildren and catechism classes are being taught by Weakland type supporters?
Could it be that as more Weakland's were allowed into the seminary, the potential Father Flanagan's dropped out or didn't apply?  May we apply this to the military if 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' is repealed by Obama?  What will we be left with?

Vatican II roles on, destoying Her Church.  Get back to basics.  Keep the Faith, baby.
